Second Saturday Block Parties! 

Saturday, September 12, from 1:00pm-5:00pm (or as late as you’d like to party).  Get together with your neighbors for a block party!  Hang out in your driveway, front yard or front porch and socialize (while maintaining social distancing).  Maybe you will meet a new neighbor or get to know a neighbor better.

Email Lifestyle/Resident Services Coordinator Tera McNellis to reserve your FREE themed block party kit full of some fun decorations and goodies for your block party!  We have 2 themes to choose from – Aloha or Camping.  The kits include themed paper plates and napkins, fun games and activities, a suggested menu, and a yard sign to direct neighbors to the party.

Mobile Barber!

BuzzBox Barbers is returning to Leyden Rock for mobile haircuts!  The truck will be parked at the Clubhouse parking lot (17685 W 83rd Drive) from 1:00pm-6:00pm on Wednesday, September 23.  They do kids cuts too!  Come grab a quick and great haircut.

Reservations recommended but they will also allow for walk ups if they have time in their schedule.  Please click the button below to make a reservation.

Food Truck Thursdays!

Take a break from cooking and come support our local food trucks!  They will be parked at the Leyden Rock Clubhouse (17685 W 83rd Dr) every Thursday. The  food trucks will be here from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Come grab a snack, dinner or a sweet treat!

Mobile BMX Bike Show!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 | 11:00am – 2:10pm

Come join us for a mobile BMX bike show!  They will be making 9 stops throughout Leyden Rock and performing a 10 minute show at each stop.  The show map is below.

Walk up or bike up to the closest location to your house.  Come watch from your front porch, back patio, front yard, driveway or sidewalk or open space near the show location.

Thank you to Leyden Rock resident Joey Mazzotta for the awesome custom silkscreened posters he has donated for us to hand out during the event.  Make sure you grab one of these FREE posters!

Please practice safe social distancing and wear a mask.

HOW THE SHOW WILL WORK

  • There will be 9 pre-determined spots throughout the neighborhood where they will perform a 10-minute show at each stop.
    • Stop #1 | 11:00 AM – 11:10 AM, Cul-de-sac at the end of Eldora Way, off of W. 84th Ave.
    • Stop #2 | 11:20 AM – 11:30 AM, Cul-de-sac at the end of W. 87th Pl, off of W. 88th Ave.
    • Stop #3 | 11:40 AM – 11:50 AM, Cul-de-sac at the end of Flattop Way, off of Gore St and W. 88th Dr.
    • Stop #4 | 12:00 PM – 12:10 PM, Cul-de-sac at the end of W. 87th Ave, off of Bross St.
    • Stop #5 | 12:20 PM – 12:30 PM, Cul-de-sac at the end of W. 87th Ave, off of Wilkerson St.
    • Stop #6 | 1:00 PM – 1:10 PM, Cul-de-sac at the end of Zircon St, off of W. 83rd Dr.
    • Stop #7 | 1:20 PM – 1:30 PM, Cul-de-sac at the end of W. 83rd Circle, off of W. 83rd Pl.
    • Stop #8 | 1:40 PM – 1:50 PM, Cul-de-sac at the end of Quartz Circle, off of 84th Pl.
    • Stop #9 | 2:00 PM – 2:10 PM, Cul-de-sac at the end of 85th Ln, off of Quaker Court.
  • **Please note that times are approximate times and subject to change.
  • At the end of each show, the performers and crew will travel to the next predetermined location on the route and proceed with the next show.

SHOW EXPECTATIONS

Social distancing and all current CDC safety measures must be followed for the duration of the shows.

  • Groups of less than 10
  • Please wear a mask
  • Practice adequate distancing

There is always the option to remain in your vehicles, homes, front yard or driveway areas rather than gathering in public areas.

Please refrain from driving or parking on the streets where the show will be performed.  We would like to minimize the traffic and vehicles in these locations during the show times.

There will be no meet and greet with the performers on-site.

If these expectations are not followed, the production company reserves the right to end the production without any warning and at their discretion. If the production ends at one stop, they will try to proceed to the next stop on the route to continue the show in a safe and respectful manner.

Traveling Concert!

Friday, September 18, beginning at 5:30 pm, come out for a traveling concert by jazz band Jason Klobnak Quartet.  They will be making 3 stops throughout Leyden Rock.  The concert map is below.  Come watch and listen from your front porch, front yard, sidewalk or even tune in to their FM radio station from your house or vehicle.  They will play 40 minute sets at each location.

  • Kona Ice will be following along the concert route at Stop #2 and Stop #3 and serving their delicious icy treats!
  • Jersey Mike’s subs will be serving up delicious subs, potato salad, chips, cookies and drinks available for purchase at Stop #1 and Stop #2, from 4:30 – 7:00!

HOW THE CONCERT WILL WORK

  • There will be 3 pre-determined spots throughout the neighborhood where the artist will play a 40-minute set at each stop.
    • Stop #1 | 5:30 PM – 6:10 PM, W. 88th Drive, between El Diente St and Eldora St. The stage will face South.
    • Stop #2 | 6:25 PM – 7:05 PM, near Lookout Park, off of W. 84th Ave., between W. 83rd Dr. and W. 84th Pl. The stage will face West toward the Clubhouse.
    • Stop #3 | 7:20 PM – 8:00 PM, near Daybreak Park, off of 84th Pl., between 85th Pl and Russell St. The stage will face West.
  • You can listen to the live show either via FM transmission (97.1FM) or hear it live through the sound system.
  • At the end of each set, the stage, band, and crew will travel to the next predetermined location on the route and proceed with the concert.

Front Porch Fridays!

Every Friday evening, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, hang out in your driveway, front yard or front porch and socialize.  Eat, drink, and mingle from a distance, chalk your walk, tell a joke, share a story, meet a new neighbor and just unwind from the week!  Cheers!

Yard of the Month Contest!

Throughout August and September

Show off your yard to the neighborhood!  Submit pictures to Tera McNellis, Lifestyle/Resident Services Coordinator and be entered into a contest for the best yard.  Submissions will be included in our newsletter for residents to vote on.  The winners will receive a gift card.

Recipes for Residents!

Some Leyden Rock residents have been exchanging recipes and wanted to share with the rest of the neighborhood.

Share your favorites or get some new recipes to try out.

Fall Fest!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 | 10:00am – 2:00pm

Food Trucks – will be parked near the clubhouse parking lot.  Come grab lunch, dinner or a sweet treat!

Boozy Truck – will be parked in the clubhouse parking lot.  Come grab a bloody mary, margarita, beer or wine!

Block Parties – get together with your neighbors to celebrate!  Hang out on your driveway, front yard or front porch and socialize (while maintaining social distancing).  Maybe you will meet a new neighbor or get to know a neighbor better.

Decorate your porch contest!  Let’s see your fall pumpkins, haybales and scarecrows!  Decorate your front door with a festive wreath or decorate your front yard.  Submit pictures to Tera McNellis, Lifestyle/Resident Services Coordinator and be entered into a gift card drawing.  Let’s get festive and celebrate!

Wreath making – Make a festive wreath.  Options available for purchase and can be picked up right here in the neighborhood.

FREE PUMPKINS – Come grab a pumpkin from the “pumpkin patch” (the grassy area in front of the Clubhouse) anytime from Saturday, September 26 through Monday, September 28 and take to your house to display in your yard, front porch or in your house.
